All images should be uploaded to your image bank and optimized for the web. The following are recommended sizes.
| Image | Width | Height |
|---|---|---|
| Gallery images | 900* | 600* |
| Page images | 600* | 1200* |
Arch cape uses thumbnails from the galleries in the admin for the intro screen. The number of total thumbs and how many thumbs each gallery contributes to the intro is determined by the amount of space on the window when the site loads, the number of galleries, and the number of images in those galleries. Arch cape works best when there are 5 – 10 galleries with at least 15 images in each gallery.
To display a traditional image slide show, enter ’slideshow’ in the Intro mode field under Site Settings > Template Settings.
To make a page link redirect to some other page (ie. http://google.com) Put the following as the first and only text in the page text: REDIRECT:http://google.com
Music is uploaded into the music area under Site Settings. The jukebox will read ID3 tags from MP3 files. Depending on what music player you use, you may have to “Convert ID3 Tags…” before they are uploaded to your site. Otherwise the jukebox will not be able to read the song/artist information. Please use version 2.4 for best results. It may be necessary to enter artist and song information if either is not defined.
To display the availability calendar, select the add calendar check box at the bottom of the page you wish to add the calendar to. To manage the calendar dates, go to Pages > Calendar. Press the calendar boxes to select or deselect a day.
To display the contact form, select the add contact form check box at the bottom of the page to which you wish to add the contact form.
Upload an image for the background texture under Site Settings > Intro/Texture. Press the upload new file button under Texture and select a new image to upload. Texture images should be sized to a minimum of 1400 x 1050 pixels. To remove the texture press the delete button to the right of the image.
Arch cape supports portrait, landscape, or square thumbnails. Enter ‘portrait’, ‘landscape’, or ’square’ in the thumb mode field under Site Settings > Template Setting. Note that portrait thumbnails will crop landscape images, landscape thumbnails will crop portrait images, and square will crop both landscape and portrait images.
Arch Cape supports 2 menu varieties. Enter 1 or 2 in the Menu mode field under Site Settings > Template Settings.
Arch Cape will automatically tilt each image slightly if yes, on, or true is entered in the Auto tilt field under Site Settings > Template Settings.
To create a caption for an image click on the desired image under Images > Image Bank**. In the caption field enter a few sentences to describe the image. When the image shows up in a gallery on your site, the caption icon will appear. Click on the caption icon to show the caption for that image. Click the caption icon again to hide the caption.
** You may need to wait for the entire image bank page to load before you can enter a caption.
Under Site Settings > Template Settings enter the amount of time in seconds an image should display in gallery slideshows before loading the next image.
Under Site Settings > Template Settings enter ‘yes’, ‘on’, or ‘true’ to have the gallery slide show auto start when entering a gallery.
Arch cape displays to contact messages on a page where the contact form has been added. Message 1 is displayed at the top of the form. Message 2 is displayed at the bottom of the form vertically and should be one or two words.
Font Modifiers allow you to increase or decrease the size of the text from its default size (set at 0) for your Site Title, Navigation, and Pages. This is most helpful when selecting fonts that render at small sizes.
A good place to start is around 400 width by 100 height in pixels. If you need the logo bigger/smaller, just resize the logo in your image editing program and then re-upload into the admin.
As of 2/15/2010 it is possible to add social media icons and links to Arch Cape. Under Site Settings > Profile under the Social Media section, add a reference to the image for a given social network and a link to a page on that network using the following format:
facebook.png,http://facebook.com/myIDHere
twitter.png,http://twitter.com/myIDHere
In this case, the images ‘facebook.png’, and ‘twitter.png’ should be uploaded to the image bank. Both pngs and jpgs can be used for these icons. There are many places to find social media icons for your site. Here is an example of one set.
Social media icons can also be added to the bottom of any page by adding the same code found in Site Settings > Profile prefixed by the text ‘SOCIAL MEDIA:’. The final text should look like this at the bottom of the page text section:
SOCIAL MEDIA:
facebook.png,http://facebook.com/myIDHere
twitter.png,http://twitter.com/myIDHere
